Tell us where you are from Sean :)
Fort Wayne Indiana
What is your favorite Coffee Drink?
Cortado (Sean's love of the Cortado quickly has rubbed off on me... it is also my new favorite drink)
What do you LOVE about Midland?
Midland has a feeling of family. Everyone looks out for one another. Midland has always felt like a place where you can grow as a person or as a business with the helping hand of your fellow Midlanders! (very true... even if Midland gets branded as the most boring city, no one can argue that it is a city that is full of warmth and feels like family)
How do you hope to make Midland a better community?
Giving the people of Midland a welcoming face. Learning about people has always been my passion. I want to help make amazing coffee for everyone, but I also want to help people in their life journey even if that’s just a simple conversation to start their day. (you do this so well Sean.... you certainly make people feel important and cared for)
What is an embarrassing moment you can laugh at?
I seem to have these moments often, and that’s ok! One I can remember is shortly after Live Oak opened, I was filling the coffee grinder and proceeded to spill coffee beans ALL over the counter. Of course the coffeehouse was full at the time. I looked up at everyone, they looked at me, we smiled and had a good chuckle. (it happens)
What is your favorite thing about Live Oak?
The space and the environment! Live Oak is such a welcoming environment for everyone. (it is because of the people for sure!)
What do you do for fun?
I am part of a few podcasts where I talk about coffee and nerd culture. I’m a huge nerd. I love video games, I even met my wife through one! I also am learning how to roast coffee, so spending an afternoon home roasting is pretty normal. I am also working on my 2nd studio album this summer. I have been producing electronic music for over 10 years. Not a lot of people know that about me :) (you are a man of many talents Sean and we are lucky to have you!)
What are you passionate about & what are some of your dreams?
People and coffee. I think this is why I feel so at home at Live Oak. I love making personal connections with people and learning their stories. Pair this with my immense passion for quality coffee and it’s an amazing match. I want to continue to tell the coffee story and make those connections with people more and more for as long as I possibly can. (ditto)
What is your favorite Charity and why?
My favorite charity is Aaron’s gifts from home. They send care packages to deployed military all over the world. My brother served in the navy, so this organization is very close to my heart. (love this Sean, thanks for highlighting it. Definitely worth checking out: http://www.aaronsgiftsfromhome.com/)
